One of those days
One of those days
Today was just one of those days where you just don't know what to do with yourself. This usually happens to me during the weekend, never on a weekday. Despite being productive, I just felt an overall lack of energy.
I'm in Brooklyn, NY assisting my cousin T, who just had surgery. She's a trooper because I die inside thinking about the day I know the doctor will have to cut me open. Can one really go through life without surgeries? I guess I was a little tense thinking about what she was going through. Maybe that was the reason I had no energy.
Being in a hospital is scary so, I opt to go outside for some fresh air. I walked around the Park Slope section. The streets adorned with little shops looked inviting. I came across an ice cream parlor that was selling a kiddie cone for $3. Crazy, right? Ironically, an ice cream truck was a block away selling a regular soft serve cone for $2. Tough decision.
Of course, it dawned on me that I wasn't visiting the city for pleasure. The weather wasn't exactly holding up either. Lately, its been feeling more like April than June. I made my way back to the hospital.
After a successful procedure, my cousin and I made it back safely (thank God because only he knows how terrible these NYC cab drivers really are) to the house. She had no appetite, so I popped a frozen dinner in the microwave and enjoyed a healthy serving of free ice cream!
